The Refuge
on Roanoke Island
Since our community offers an abundance of natural features, you will have to forgive us for only mentioning a few of those available to our campers.
Grape vines are starting to grow around the trellis in front of this bath house. Standing tall and proud, our bath house has a ramp to lead the way to the top where you can find an excellent view of the sun setting over the Roanoke Sound. Inside you will find plenty of space to "freshen up" with bathroom stalls, hot showers and sinks. Follow the oleander plants, to the right of the building, where you will find our recycling center.
Need we say more? This pool is conveniently located beside our pond so that you can have the best of both worlds. Enjoy the waterfront view while relaxing by the pool. Keep on the lookout for the fish mosaic at the bottom.
A few steps from the pool, along the waterfront, is our covered pavilion. We have provided ample space for hanging out with family and friends. From here you can take a walk along the boardwalks all the way down to the canal. Picnic tables and benches are provided for a place to rest your feet or grab a bite to eat. This space is also available to rent for family reunions, weddings and other large gatherings. It is available to our tenants at all other times.
